September 9, 2013 – Los Angeles, CA – Seminal rock band Story of the Year will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their classic album, Page Avenue, with a new acoustic reimagining of the record called Ten Years and Counting, which will be released on October 8th. The band also recently announced they will celebrate the milestone with the "Scream It Like You Mean It" headlining tour.

In anticipation for the upcoming release, Story of the Year has put together a teaser video for fans to preview the new renditions of the time-honored songs. Check it out HERE: (

"I think people will dig the vibe of this record and enjoy experiencing these songs in an alternate way," says guitarist Ryan Phillips. "I am a child of the 90's, and to me the Pearl Jam unplugged album is one of my favorite acoustic performances and recordings of all time. LIke the legendary Nirvana Unplugged, Pearl Jam didn't really change the songs at all; for the most part they played the album versions of the songs and simply swapped electric guitars for acoustics, and they captured magic. We wanted to split the difference between that approach and an all out departure from the original songs; a sort of middle ground that wasn't too far in either direction. I think we found a dynamic and interesting middle ground, utilizing pianos, percussion, synths, keys, acoustics, etc, and re-imagined these songs while still retaining the spirit of the originals. It's borderline weird to call it an acoustic album, because it is so much more than just two acoustics and a couple of vocal tracks. A wide array of instruments and sounds were utilized to make this album what it is. I am so proud of this record, and more importantly I am so proud of these songs. Ten Years and Counting is a celebration of "Page Avenue" and all the memories associated with those songs, and if nothing else, something different to listen to when you want to chill out. Or if you have a hangover. Or if you want to make love. To me."

On September 16, 2003, Dan Marsala (vocals), Ryan Phillips (guitar), Philip Sneed (guitar), Adam Russell (bass) and Josh Wills (drums), came together to release one of the decade's most revered and beloved rock albums, Page Avenue, which went on to to sale over half a million copies in the U.S. The record raised the bar for modern rock in the early 2000's, producing hit radio anthems like "Until the Day I Die," "Anthem of Our Dying Day" and "Sidewalks" and jump-started the career of the St. Louis five-piece.

"Page Avenue is an album that completely changed my life," says Story of the Year singer Dan Marsala. "Every song reminds me of five wide eyed kids from St. Louis chasing their dreams. I never could have imagined where these songs would take me. Ten years later I still love these songs so much. Some of them have taken on completely different meanings that relate more to my life now. Reworking and re-recording this album brought back so many amazing memories. We knew we wanted to do something special for the ten year anniversary, something that would honor the original songs but at the same time give everyone a completely different experience. We basically stripped down every song and started from scratch. I love the vulnerability that shines through on this record. These songs have truly stood the test of time and I couldn't be more proud to be experiencing 10 years of Page Avenue. Here's to another 10 years!

Story of the Year will self-release Ten Years and Counting digitally on October 8th. A small number of limited edition CD's will be available on the band's upcoming "Scream It Like You Mean It" tour.

Thursday, April 11th, 2013 | SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES

We are super excited to announce that we will be returning to South America in August with some of our favorite people on the planet, The Swellers! Our first tour of South America was one of the craziest and most amazing tours we've ever done. Late night shows, insane crowds, beer and countless other awesome things. We can't wait to do it again! Hopefully we will be adding a couple of cities as well. We really want to play Rio, so let's make that happen! Thanks for being so awesome and we'll see you soon. Click HERE for dates.

Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 | THANK YOU ST. LOUIS!

To our most beloved hometown fans:

As a band tours as much as we have, a strange thing happens. You find yourself in this sort of rootless, nomadic existence, and your home becomes a hotel room or a bunk in a tour bus, maybe even a futon in a smelly van. You live out of a suitcase and the high point of the week might be a dressing room that has a shower. In the maelstrom that is touring, there are those certain cities that stand out. For us the highlight of any tour is always the St Louis show. That's when we finally feel like we are home. We look forward to the St Louis date of any tour the way a kid might look forward to Christmas; with anticipation and excitement. There is nothing like a hometown show.

We, the members of Story of the Year, would like to thank the city of St. Louis, MO for over ten years of unwavering love and support. From the amazing folks at 105.7 the Point, to the St Louis Cardinals, to the venues & promoters, to the local bands, to our beautiful fans- we have a fierce loyalty and appreciation for a city that was the first to embrace us and ultimately stick with us through good times and bad. What better way to say THANK YOU than a special blow out show at our favorite venue in the country: THE PAGEANT!
We are going to perform a special, extra long concert, and play every fan favorite from every damn record we've put out. We are going to play songs that we haven't performed in years, or ever. We are going to dance. There will be surprises. People will get pregnant. We are going to play until we throw up. It's going to be a ridiculous good time.

St Louis, let's make this a night to remember. And to our many out of town fans, if you find yourself on a road trip to St Louis on June 8th, know that in our eyes you are family as well.

Tickets go on sale at 5pm April 5th!

Endless thanks and love,
Story of the Year.

July 26th, 2013 | THANK YOU!

To all of the new fans & friends we made on this year's Warped Tour: welcome to the family! We had an absolute blast. It was hot, gross, sometimes we played at 12pm, sometimes we drank too much, sometimes it rained. But it was totally worth it and an honor to once again be a part of this amazing tour. Party on Earth.

The June 8th St Louis show at the Pageant is SOLD OUT! What an awesome way to make our return. Thank you so much everyone, we are crazy excited!
